The artistic examination of space is about exploding its dimensions, about a shifting or opening of space. In a figurative sense, it's about creating spaces that offer room for thought and reflection. Everything starts in a space. For the fourth edition of the event series, this approach will be expanded in terms of space and content. Dimensions Variable# Semi Public Art is distributed across public and semi-public spaces in Alt-Hietzing.
Behind this are considerations of how artists can create space for themselves for realization, which spaces are dedicated to art and how spaces can be opened up independently? What kind of displays does a city have to offer for making art and culture visible? And: is the added value of art and culture recognized as such by business and politics, or does art itself have to question its social relevance in order to be able to assert its claim to space for realization?
