Gerlind Zeilner: Bauhäuser
Gerlind Zeilner is fascinated by the medial transformations of narratives and characters, as they appear in pictures in everyday-life. She captures these images in her drawings, when she finds them in surrounding spaces. With the means of painting she relates herself to these found pictures, tracks the changing images and drives the narrative threads forth, as she adds her subjective view.
Gerlind Zeilner was born in Lower Austria, grew up in Salzburg and currently lives in Vienna, where she teaches drawing at the Academy of Fine Arts. She was the recipient of the Georg Eisler Award (2006) and the Anton Faistauer Award (2008). Her work has been shown in several exhibitions in Austria, as well as in the U.S.A.,Germany, Italy, Albania, Israel, Syria and Turkey.
